Benin kingdom/Edo state Language

Edo state is mainly Edo- speaking:

The Bini  or Benins (Oredo, Egor, Ikpoba-Okha, Uhunmwode, Orhionmwon, Ovia North East and Ovia South west Local Governments Areas)

The Esan or Ishan (Esan West, Esan Central, Esan North East, Esan South East and Igueben Local Government Areas)

The Etsako (Etsako West, Etsako Central, and Etsako East Local Government Areas)

The Owan (Owan West and Owan East Local Government Areas)

The Akoko Edo (Akoko Edo Local Government Area)
All are classified as Edo-speaking. Local variants or dialects may occur from place to place
There are Igala- speaking communities around illushi and Ifeku inland in Esan South East Local Government; Igbirra-related areas in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area and some Ijaw, Urhobo and Yoruba- speaking communities in Ovia North East and South West Local Government Area.
