The Oba of Benin can in a single day make 20,000 men ready for war, and, if need be, 180,000, and because of this he has great influence among all the surrounding peoples. His authority stretches over many cities, towns and villages.

There is no King thereabouts who, in the possession of so many beautiful cities and towns, is his equal.

When trouble sleep and yanga go wake am, wetin him dey find? Na palaver him dey find and na palaver him go get" -
Fela Anikulapo Kuti.

Selfishness, inconsiderate, insensitive, ungrateful to a large extent that you dared the entire people of Benin to war with your people when they didn't ask for it. Benin people are a more powerful people.
Adesuwa, a fine princess and daughter of Ezomo N" Uzebu.
This is the story of the war that ensued between the people of Benin and Oboro.

From a very long time coming it will be recalled that Obi of Oboro-Uku killed Adesuwa, a beautiful daughter of Ezomo n’ Uzebu during the reign of Oba Akengbuda in 1752 .
Adesuwa is famed for her unrivalled beauty in Benin Kingdom. Adesuwa the beautiful daughter of Ezomo was betrothed to Oba Akengbuda the Oba of Benin.

Adesuwa was abducted by the newly installed vassal chief of Ubulu-Uku (Obi Olise) who on his visit to Benin to pay homage to the Oba of Benin call at Uzebu the palace of the Ezomo N' Uzebu who was the father of Adesuwa.
Obi Olise of Ubulu Uku was arrested by the uncommon beauty of Adesuwa on his setting his eyes upon her on his visit to her father.

Like the epic tragedy of Troy, Olise plot to get the fair princess to his harem.
He approaches the princess later and feigning contingencies, buys a number of goats which he promises to pay as soon as he get back to his abode.
He reneges and dallies in his promise over many market weeks, and by the power of great SORCERY prompts Adesuwa to embark on the ill-fated journey of debt recovery.

Against all advice Adesuwa arrives Ubulu-Uku to the delight of Olise.
Obi Olise indulges Adesuwa to abandon her guest for payment for her goat since he had all along planned to add her to his harem of woman.
To this Adesuwa feels insulted and use and without control lashed out at Olise raining abuses and insults on him even before his chiefs.
Not being able to curtail her running mouth, Olise instantly beheads Adesuwa. Here begins the epic magical battle between Ubulu-Uku and Benin Kingdom.
Feeling personal grief, Oba Akengbuda mobilizes the kingdom’s armies and other vassal warriors to subdue Obi Olise and have him executed by beheading the Obi,

Troops under the command of Imaran Adiagbon and another contingent under the Enogie Emokpaogbe the Agboghidi of Ugo, husband of Emokpolo were sent to Oboro-Uku, to avenge the slain Adesuwa.
After severe battles the town of Oboro-uku was captured and the head of the Obi was brought to Benin.
